Description
This study evaluated the condition of the thermoplastic and pavement marking tape stripes through several winters to see if the grooves provided significant protection for the stripes. Placing lane markings in shallow grooves in the pavement results in considerably longer marking life, making the highway safer for drivers.

Description
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is conducting a PEL study for southbound I-225 between Yosemite Street and Interstate 25 (I-25) in the City and County of Denver, Colorado. CDOT is conducting the I-225 PEL (Yosemite to I-25) to assess existing conditions, identify anticipated problem areas, and develop and evaluate transportation improvements to reduce congestion, improve mobility, and enhance the safety of I-225 within the study area....

Description
Following a rigid set of testing protocols, data is being collected on highway traffic noise characteristics along with safety and durability aspects of the associated pavements. The overall goal of this research project is to develop and execute a comprehensive, long-term study to determine if a particular pavement surface type and/or texture can be successfully used in Colorado to help satisfy FHWA noise mitigation requirements.
